Rafa Nadal received the ATP Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award this week at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.

It was the fifth time (the last 4 consecutively) that the recently-crowned Australian Open champion has picked up the accolade, which was voted for by his fellow tour players. He first received the trophy in 2010.

The prize recognises the Spaniard’s fair play, professionalism and integrity on and off the court. All five Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship trophies are now held at the Rafa Nadal Museum in Manacor.

“I couldn’t be happier to receive this Sportsmanship Award again from my peers on tour”, said Nadal when ATP told him the news in December. “It means a lot to me, so thank you very much to all the players that think I am the person to receive this award”, said the 21-time Grand Slam champion. “Honestly, it means a lot to me because I always try to behave correctly on court. Thank you for believing in me”.

The ATP 250 trophy Rafa won in Melbourne last month, on his comeback to competition from a 4 month break due to injury, is also now in the Rafa Nadal Museum.
