Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar

A fundamental concept that motivates Rafael Nadal is his focus on continuously improving himself and the community in general. At the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar (RNA) we want to promote a series of values and rules for communal living that will guide the behavior of the members of our community, especially the players, who spend a very important time in their lives with us, and who aspire to achieve all of the objectives that are available to them, both in sports and on a personal level.

Whether in the classrooms, the dormitories, in the residence, or on the tennis courts, we ask all the players of the RNA to act in a responsible manner and to make appropriate, intelligent and empathetic decisions that will improve their community. This declaration applies inside and outside of the RNA, including all activities organized by RNA outside of its facilities such as extracurricular activities and excursions. Therefore, any infraction that occurs during an off-site activity will be considered in the same manner as if committed at the RNA.

The main rules of communal living and the fundamental principles we work with to develop a player with a positive character, and to provide him or her with standards of behavior in line with the values that permeate the RNA’s educational project are detailed below.

These rules of communal living endeavor to achieve that our players become true ambassadors of RNA:

  • A good attitude from the player is essential for appropriate learning and development.
  • Good behavior must be learnt: RNA must educate on how to make the right decisions and behave correctly.
  • Self-discipline, common sense, responsibility and learning from our mistakes are the basis of the pedagogical model at the RNA.
  • Every player has the right to learn and to be respected by others.
  • All RNA staff members at the RNA have the right to work without inconvenience or interruption, in a pleasant environment and without feeling threatened.
  • Every player should strive to have a positive attitude, supporting each other in a friendly and rewarding environment.
  • All members of the RNA community share the responsibility of promoting high standards of behavior.
  • All players must contribute in a positive way to everyday life at the RNA and strive to achieve a positive balance between their academic studies and their tennis practice, along with other activities organized in this communal living.
  • All players must show good manners and respect always and be aware that inappropriate behavior will not be accepted.
  • All players must attend all mandatory scheduled activities and be punctual.
  • All players must develop a sense of belonging to the community and, along the same lines, empathize with all the members of the community and take care of the environment that surrounds them.
