Nadal and Agassi’s last match at Wimbledon

Andre Agassi said goodbye to Wimbledon in 2006, fifteen years after winning his first Grand Slam precisely on the London grass.
The American legend had announced that this would be his final edition, and after defeating Serbian Boris Pashanski and Italian Andreas Seppi, he faced the second seed Rafa Nadal in the third round.
In two hours and 14 minutes, the Spaniard closed the victory 7-6(5), 6-2, 6-4 before the American said goodbye forever to Centre Court. “You’re young, at 18 or 19, you have that drive and all you worry about is the next point. I see that in Nadal as well. He has a true sense of professionalism and goes out to try to win every point,” were Agassi’s words after the match against a young Nadal, who would go on to reach his first Wimbledon final.
