Rafa Nadal Visits the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Hong Kong

Rafa Nadal has visited the facilities of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Hong Kong for the first time, a complex that opened in 2022 and is part of the international network of centers promoted by the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar. This visit reflects Rafa’s direct involvement in the international growth of the academy and in the promotion of tennis as a vehicle for training, effort, and personal improvement.

Located in the prestigious Hong Kong Golf & Tennis Academy (HKGTA) complex, the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center was born from the alliance between the two entities with the aim of offering high-quality tennis training to players of all ages and levels. The programs taught at the center are developed following the training methodology created by the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca and implemented by coaches trained in Manacor.

During his visit, Rafa toured the facilities and saw the 7 hard courts (6 outdoors and 1 indoor), the clay court, the two indoor mini-tennis courts, a store, and the gym. Rafa also visited an area dedicated to his career, which displays a replica of each Grand Slam as well as videos and images of his professional career.

Rafa, who in recent years has personally visited the international centers in Kuwait, Mexico, and Greece, learned firsthand about the day-to-day operations of the Hong Kong center, conversing with the coaches and showing interest in the young people and adults who train daily at the facilities. During his visit, Rafa was accompanied by Maribel Nadal, Deputy General Director of the Rafa Nadal Academy, and Tomeu Salvá, Technical Co-Director of the academy.

This visit represents an important milestone in the development and implementation of the international expansion that both Rafa and his team have developed with the creation of centers inspired by the training methodology carried out in Mallorca.

The sporting seed that was born in Manacor, Rafa’s hometown, has grown and spread to multiple destinations: the Rafa Nadal Academy Kuwait has been exporting the training methodology to the heart of the Middle East since 2020, while the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centers in Mexico, Greece, Marbella, Hong Kong and the Dominican Republic, together with the Rafa Nadal Tennis Program in Egypt, form a global network that transmits the values, training methodology, and philosophy of Rafa Nadal to thousands of players around the world.
