In their description of the nomination, the members of the Pádel Spain WORLD PADEL AWARDS jury highlighted the following:
“Without a doubt, one of the year’s great discoveries, as most of the players highly praised the facilities at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Kuwait where it was held; a five-star venue with all the necessary amenities and services to ensure they were well-cared for, focused on competing, and, above all, very close to the hotel to avoid long commutes and wasted time.”
World number 1 Arturo Coello, who was crowned champion of the tournament, gave his assessment of one of the most special events of the season in the following way : “The academy is truly incredible, with incredible facilities that host a professional padel tournament with all the needs we might have during the week. It’s an incredible place with every possible facility so athletes can develop their game and their daily routines in the best possible way.
Martita Ortega also praised the arrival in Kuwait as a very positive development for the internationalization of the sport : “We’re very happy. If it’s not the best tournament, it’s one of the best. The facilities are everything we wanted and much more, and we’re extremely happy.”
Gemma Triay, world number 3 and finalist in Kuwait, also echoed these comments: “The courts are of very good quality, we have a hotel next door that is spectacular, the comfort is incredible, and I think this is the ideal tournament that Premier Pádel wants.” Other players such as Franco Stupaczuck, Alejandra Salazar, Coki Nieto, Delfi Brea, Jon Sanz, and Mike Yanguas also described the event as “One of the best of the season.” Former world number 1 Carolina Navarro also praised the quality of the event during a tour of the facilities she took with the Academy’s Deputy General Manager, Maribel Nadal.
