The Rafa Nadal Academy hosted the first professional padel tournament of the FIP Tour in its history with the celebration of the FIP Bronze Mallorca 2026 at its facilities, an event that offered a great sporting spectacle for a week and that will be especially marked by Ramiro Moyano’s farewell to professional padel.

The Argentinian player brought his career in the elite to an end by competing in his last official match alongside his son, Juan Pedro ‘Juanpe’ Moyano, in an emotional farewell that focused the attention of the tournament. After the match, Moyano received a tribute from the Rafa Nadal Academy, which he joins as a coach of professional padel players. Maribel Nadal, deputy general manager of the Rafa Nadal Academy, presented him with a plaque in recognition of his brilliant sporting career.

In the sporting section, the men’s draw crowned the number one seeds, Antonio ‘Pincho’ Fernández, a player from the Rafa Nadal Academy, and José Luis González, who won the grand final against Mario del Castillo and Ignacio Vilariño by 7-5 and 6-4. In the women’s draw, Academy player Patricia Martínez, partnering with Marta Arellano, came close to the title after falling in the final against Sofía Saiz and Eugenia Guimet by 6-4, 3-6 and 3-6. Maribel Nadal and the president of the Balearic Padel Federation, Paco Sanz, were present at the awards ceremony.
The FIP Bronze Mallorca also marked the start of professional padel in Spain in 2026, as it was the first tournament of the FIP Tour to be held in our country this season, after the start of the circuit in Australia. The event brought together a prominent cast of players, with eleven members of the world’s Top 100.

The Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar continues to consolidate its position as an international benchmark in the training of top-level tennis players and has transferred that same model of excellence to padel. The Academy has training programs for young people and adults, nine outdoor and ten indoor courts, as well as a complete fitness center, health and wellness areas, a wide range of restaurants and a modern residence. A first-class environment that makes it an ideal place for both professional padel practice and the development of new talents and the sporting experience of amateur players.
