Coleman Wong breaks into the ATP Top 100 for the first time

Coleman Wong continues to take giant strides on the professional circuit. The Hong Kong player trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy has entered the Top 100 of the ATP rankings for the first time, after climbing 16 positions thanks to his great performance at the ATP 250 in Los Cabos.

The 22-year-old tennis player reached the semifinals of the Mexican tournament after a great week in which he defeated, among others, the top seed, Czech player Jiri Lehecka, thus confirming his excellent current form.

Wong’s breakthrough into the Top 100 marks a new milestone in his short but promising career. The Hong Kong player started the 2026 season ranked 150th in the ATP rankings and, in just a few months, has managed to establish himself among the world’s tennis elite.

During this first half of the year, Wong won the Jiujiang Challenger (China), claiming the most important title of his career to date, and once again competed in the main draw of a Grand Slam at Roland Garros, confirming the consistency he has been showing on the circuit.

His growth had already begun to attract the public’s attention last season. For instance, at the 2025 US Open, Wong made his Grand Slam main draw debut and, at just 21 years old, also secured his first victory in a major by defeating American Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(4), becoming one of the most promising players in Asian tennis.

Wong’s entry into the world’s top one hundred players reinforces the work that the Rafa Nadal Academy has been carrying out for years in the comprehensive training of young tennis players and consolidates its role as one of the leading talent development centers internationally.
