Kuwait Major 2026, celebrado en The Arena y en la Rafa Nadal Academy de Kuwait

Rafa Nadal Academy Kuwait has taken another step towards establishing itself as an international benchmark in padel following the successful hosting of its first Major tournament. After staging the Kuwait P1 in 2024 and the FIP World Cup Pairs in 2025, the Academy and The Arena Kuwait welcomed the world’s best pairs over nine days of competition at one of the most prestigious tournaments on the Premier Padel calendar, the highest level of the professional circuit.

On the sporting front, the Kuwait Major delivered historic moments. The standout achievement came from Academy player Gemma Triay, who, alongside Delfi Brea, claimed the title after defeating Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

With this victory, Triay reached 59 professional titles, becoming the most decorated female padel player of all time and surpassing the previous record of 58 titles held by Alejandra Salazar and Ariana Sánchez. This historic milestone, achieved in Kuwait, further cements her status as one of the greatest players in the history of women’s padel.

For Triay and Brea, the triumph marked their seventh title of the season, their second Major of the year and their 16th trophy together since joining forces in 2025.

Meanwhile, in the men’s competition, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia once again demonstrated their dominance on the circuit, securing the title with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory over Juan Tello and Maxi Arce in the final.

The victory allowed the Spanish-Argentinian duo to mathematically secure the year-end world No. 1 ranking for the fourth consecutive season. Coello and Tapia also claimed their 13th title of 2026, extending their extraordinary run at the top of international padel.

Much more than competition

Beyond the matches, the Kuwait Major brought several days of intense sporting and educational activity to Rafa Nadal Academy Kuwait.

Throughout the week, Rodri Ovide, Head of Padel Methodology at Rafa Nadal Academy, played a leading role in the training activities held at the facilities, including clinics, coach education sessions and many hours on court, sharing his experience and expertise with players and coaches.

These initiatives reinforced the Academy’s commitment to player development, knowledge sharing, technical and tactical improvement, and the growth of padel at every level.

Furthermore, participants and attendees had the opportunity to experience the world’s best padel up close, watching international stars compete in a world-class sporting environment. This prominence on the international sporting scene helps spread Rafa Nadal’s methodology and values across the globe.
