Alina Koorneva, campeona del W75 de Bahrein 2026

Alina Korneeva has inaugurated the Rafa Nadal Academy’s honors in 2026 with her triumph in the W75 tournament in Manama (Bahrain), where she was proclaimed champion after defeating the Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro in the final by a clear 6-4 and 6-0. The 18-year-old Russian player thus conquers her first title of the season and the eighth of her career in the ITF World Tennis Tour.

Winner of two junior Grand Slam titles in 2023—Australian Open and Roland Garros—Korneeva continues to consolidate her progress on the professional circuit. The player, coached by Anabel Medina, already had a remarkable season in 2025 with three ITF titles achieved in Bratislava, Évora, and Leiria, confirming a constant evolution in both results and competitive maturity.

On her way to the title in Manama, Korneeva showed great solidity. She debuted with a resounding victory against the Canadian Havah Kaur Kaler (6-1 and 6-0), then surpassed the Belgians Hanne Vandewinkel (7-5 and 6-3) and Sofia Costoulas (6-3 and 6-1), and in the semifinals, she conceded her only set of the tournament against the American Carol Young Suh Lee, whom she defeated by 3-6, 6-4, and 6-4. In the final, she once again displayed her best version to prevail with authority against Fiona Ferro by 6-4 and 6-0.

The week closed at the Rafa Nadal Academy with the dispute of a new ITF tournament, in this case an M15, where the Bulgarian Ivan Ivanov, number 1 in the junior ranking in 2025 and winner of the Wimbledon and US Open Grand Slams, reached the final. The player trained at the Academy only yielded in the decisive match against Yaroslav Demin (6-1 and 6-4), thus completing another week of great level.
