Starting this week, the Rafa Nadal Museum Experience is hosting a temporary exhibition of trophies and objects on loan from Real Madrid. The exhibition shows some of the most recent achievements of the Whites’ football and basketball teams.

Over the next three months the display cabinets in the museum located in the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar will contain the Champions League trophy won in 2018, the last of the thirteen they have claimed throughout their long history. Zinedine Zidane’s side beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev (Ukraine) with a goal from Benzemá and a further two from Gareth Bale. That year, Real Madrid also had to beat Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, Juventus in the quarters and PSG in the round of sixteen.

The exhibition of Madrid trophies in Manacor also shows the Euroleague that the team led by Pablo Laso won in 2018. Real Madrid’s tenth Euroleague came after winning a spectacular Final Four in the Stark Arena in Belgrade (Serbia) against CSKA Moscow in the semi-finals (92-83) and Fenerbace in the final (85-80). In addition, Sergio Llull was named MVP in that season’s Euroleague, a title that can also be admired at this exhibition. The exhibition is complemented with shirts signed by various members of both squads.

The collection, on loan from Real Madrid, is not the first the Rafa Nadal Museum has hosted from outside the world of tennis and Rafa Nadal himself. Last year, the World Cup won by the Spanish basketball team and the EuroBasket trophy won by Spain’s women in Serbia were on display.

This temporary exhibition provides further incentive for sports fans from all over the world to enjoy a space that houses the trophies won by Rafa Nadal throughout his career, as well as other memorabilia donated by athletes such as Usain Bolt, Michael Jordan, Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Roger Federer, Lebron James and Pau Gasol. In addition, the Rafa Nadal Museum Xperience offers several activities that allow visitors to compete virtually with figures from world sport, to have interactive experiences and to enjoy games for all ages in sports such as tennis, rowing, Formula 1, cycling, etc. This high-tech environment with leisure activities has become one of the main tourist and sports attractions in Mallorca.
