After being a substitute in the 2024 edition, Martin Landaluce<\/strong> will make his official debut in the Next Gen ATP Finals 2025<\/strong>, the tournament that brings together the eight best tennis players under 21 years of age of the season.<\/p>\n\n

The Madrid native will thus become the fourth player trained at the<\/strong> Rafa Nadal Academy<\/strong> to compete in this prestigious event, following in the footsteps of Abdullah Shelbayh (2023)<\/strong>, Casper Ruud<\/strong> (2019)<\/strong>, and Jaume Munar<\/strong>, who reached the semifinals in the first edition held in Milan in 2017.<\/p>\n\n

At 19 years old, Landaluce arrives at the event after a season of growth and very solid results: He conquered the Challenger of Orleans (France)<\/strong>, was a semifinalist in Olbia<\/strong>, passed the qualifying phase of the Australian Open<\/strong>, and reached the second round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000<\/strong>. In the final stretch of the year, he repeated his presence in the semifinals<\/strong> both in the Canberra Challenger<\/strong> \u2014the first of 2025\u2014 and in the Villena<\/strong>, the last one played. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cQualifying for the Next Gen means being among the best players under 20. It confirms that we have been doing very well for years and especially this year, that we have pushed a lot. It is going to be a very special tournament. I know most of them and we are going to have a great time. I hope it is a very beautiful tournament, that I can compete a lot and try to do my best. A confessed admirer of Rafa Nadal<\/strong>, he aspires to follow his example not only in the results, but also in the professionalism, focus, and values<\/strong> that define the champions. <\/p>\n\n

The Next Gen ATP Finals<\/strong>, which are held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)<\/strong>, maintain their innovative format with matches to the best of five short sets, no-ad scoring<\/em>, electronic review Hawk-Eye Live<\/em>, and freedom of movement for the public, in a commitment by the ATP to attract new generations of fans.<\/p>\n\n
