The Rafa Nadal Academy in Kuwait has once again taken centre stage in the world of professional padel by successfully hosting the inaugural edition of the FIP World Cup Pairsat its facilities, the new world championship for pairs organized by the International Padel Federation (FIP).

The tournament, which for a week brought together the best pairs on the planet and distributed more than 1.5 million euros in prizes, has strengthened the Academy’s position as one of the premier international venues for this sport and reaffirms its commitment to the growth and professionalization of padel in the Middle East.
The facilities, inaugurated by Rafa Nadal himself in 2020 and which already hosted the Kuwait City Premier Padel P1 last season, have been widely praised by the players.
Champion Ale Galán highlighted:The facilities are incredible — truly world-class — and we felt extremely comfortable throughout the week. Facilities of this type are very good; the promoter and the circuit have found a place that should stay.”
For their part, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia agreed that: “The facilities live up to the name of the Academy. We have been very comfortable and very happy to be able to enjoy this environment.”
Maribel Nadal, Deputy General Director of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, also gave a very positive assessment of the event:
“It’s been a wonderful week. For us, having the opportunity to host such an important international tournament is very exciting. The Rafa Nadal Academy has been committed to padel in addition to tennis for a long time, and this tournament has been very special. The players have told us that it has been a very comfortable week for them, with everything in the same place: hotel, mall, the courts, the gym and the spa. In addition, the public has enjoyed unbeatable finals with the number one and two pairs, both male and female. Hopefully we can experience it again next year in Kuwait.”
In the sporting section, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, padel ambassadors of the Rafa Nadal Academy and current world number ones, had an almost perfect week by reaching their fourteenth final of the season, without dropping a single set until the decisive match. They were only surpassed in the grand final by Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, who prevailed by a double 6-3.
After this result, the fight for number one remains more open than ever, with a lead of 1,510 points for Triay and Brea with three tournaments remaining (Dubai, Acapulco and the Barcelona Finals).
In the men’s draw, the champions were Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto, who were proclaimed winners of the tournament after a week of great competitive level.
The world of padel has had a date with history with this first edition of the FIP World Cup Pairs, which had global television coverage, bringing the excitement of the tournament to every corner of the globe — with the Rafa Nadal Academy in Kuwait shining brightly on the world stage.
