As part of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar extension project, young players are now able to enjoy a new fitness centre with large spaces and state-of-the-art equipment.

The new 465m2 gym, located on the top floor of the new building, has high-tech Technogym cardio and strength machines. It also includes the latest models of isoinertial machines from Italian brand Desmotec, which allow players to work on eccentric phases of muscle contraction, which is essential for development and progress.

Another important innovation, which will allow players to work on the strength of all their movements is the inclusion of new pneumatic technology from the brand Keiser (Infinity model), which allows work at any velocity without mass or gravity affecting resistance in either the concentric or eccentric phases of movement.

This machinery is complemented with innovative sports equipment from Training Wall®, which simultaneously coordinates and integrates exercise for both upper and lower body and is now available for players at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.

Domingo Rosselló, the head of fitness coaching at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, is very happy with the new zone: “This new gym was designed to optimise the training system we run at the academy, replicating the functional methodology that Rafa and his entire team have employed throughout his long sports career. We have set up a very spacious gym with large zones in the central area for carrying out exercises and movements that are specific to tennis. The inclusion of cutting-edge, high-tech equipment will help players to keep growing and improving their fitness with the help of our expert team of fitness coaches”.
