From October 7 to 10, 2025, the Enrique Esteire Perla in Memoriam Association will turn the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar into the international epicenter of wheelchair tennis with a new edition of the Enrique Esteire Open — a tournament that is steadily establishing itself as one of the must-attend stops on the international calendar. This third edition, in just two years, has already become part of the ITF World Tour, an unprecedented milestone.

The championship will bring together outstanding names from both the men’s and women’s circuits, combining established stars with rising talents that reflect the global growth of this sport.

Among the participants are players such as Gustavo Fernández, former world No. 1 and winner of 8 Grand Slam titles; Scotland’s Gordon Reid, with five Olympic medals and 29 Grand Slam crowns; and Spain’s Daniel Caverzaschi, a medalist at Paris 2024.

They will be joined by international players from across the globe — Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America.

The women’s draw will also feature a first-class lineup, including the current top two players in the world, Japan’s Yui Kamiji and the Netherlands’ Aniek Van Koot. In addition, six other members of the world’s Top 20 will complete the field.

The tournament, which pays tribute to Enrique Esteire, a tennis pioneer and co-founder of the Chamartín Tennis Club, has in recent years become both a competitive benchmark and a platform for visibility and inclusion.

The competition will be played in men’s and women’s draws over four days, with free entry for fans and live streaming coverage throughout the event.
