RAFA NADAL ACADEMY BY MOVISTAR, RECOGNISED AT THE SIE AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

The third SIE Awards for Excellence, organised by Spain is Excellence (SIE) brought together over 140 leading figures from the business, institutional and cultural worlds, reaffirming the importance of these accolades in promoting Spanish excellence beyond our borders.

The goal of the SIE Awards is to recognise and pay homage to Spanish brands and companies that have managed to position themselves overseas in an exemplary manner, representing the Spanish brand with excellence and contributing to our country’s international prestige. The Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar was recognised “for its impact on sports coaching and its promotion of positive values on an international level”.

After creating the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca in 2016 and establishing a coaching model based on sporting and academic excellence, Rafa Nadal and his team designed an international expansion programme based on a new line of tennis centres inspired by the training method employed in Manacor. During this period a second Rafa Nadal Academy has been opened in Kuwait, as well as three sports centres called Rafa Nadal Tennis Centres located in Mexico, Greece and Hong Kong.

The prize was presented to Maribel Nadal, Assistant Managing Director of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar: “This award is very special for us because it recognises the work the whole team at the academy is carrying out so that Rafa’s legacy and the academy’s methodology have a universal impact. We have unbeatable partners and our goal is to continue this international expansion prudently and progressively”.

Thanks to the corporate prestige associated with the professional values of Rafa Nadal himself, this accolade highlights the fact that the academy has become the ideal vehicle for promoting the Spanish brand beyond our borders thanks to an established international renown and an exciting outlook for growth.

The winners of the various categories were as follows:

· Iberdrola: For its leadership in the energy sector and its commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.

· Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar: for its impact on sports coaching and the promotion of positive values on an international level.

· Catenon: For its innovation in human resources consultancy and its global expansion.

· Madrid City Council Tourism: For its work promoting Madrid as a world-leading tourist destination.

· Denomination of Origin Pimentón de La Vera: For its contribution to the promotion of high-quality Spanish products on the international market.

· Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada: In recognition of her influence and creativity in fashion, taking Spanish design to every corner of the world.

· Estrella Galicia: For its commitment to excellence and its global expansion in the brewery sector.
