The city of Gijón will host for the first time a Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour by The Adecco Group event from October 3 to 5. The event, which will take place at VADE4 PADEL INDOOR, combines competition, leisure, fun and values and is part of an amateur padel circuit that last year brought together more than 1,000 players. In fact, it was nominated for the award for Best Amateur Circuit of the Year at the World Padel Awards organized annually by ‘Padel Spain’.

Following the Hexagon Cup model, each participating team will be made up of a minimum of six players, who will form three pairs per heat, and each team will be guaranteed to play at least two heats.

The tournament will also have two men’s categories (Viper, high level, and Veron, medium level) and two women’s categories (Energy, high level, and Stima, medium level), in which teams will compete to be crowned champions and enter the draw for a place to play the final event in Mallorca, at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, next December.

“We are really looking forward to celebrating this event in Gijón. It is a city that lives sport with intensity and I think it will be a very special experience,” said Maribel Nadal, assistant general manager of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.

Known for its prestige training young tennis players since its opening in 2016, the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar has also bet on padel thanks to the development of training programs for youth and adults in state-of-the-art facilities where 19 padel courts are located (9 outdoor and 10 indoor courts).

Now, with the organization of the Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour by The Adecco Group, the objective is to publicize the values, methodology and DNA of the academy in the amateur padel environment thanks to a new circuit that is here to stay.
