The Rafa Nadal Academy is preparing for a historic day this Saturday with a doubles exhibition match in which Rafa Nadal will play a tennis match for the first time since his retirement in late 2024, serving to celebrate the Academy’s 10th anniversary.

Former world number 1 and three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray is already at the Academy facilities in Manacor. The Briton, captain of the team facing the one led by Rafa Nadal, provided an unforgettable moment for Rafa Nadal Academy players this Friday by sharing a training session with some of them.
The training took place on the Academy’s center court, a setting already prepared to host the Rafa Nadal Academy Slam this Saturday. The young players thus had the opportunity to share the court and training with one of the greatest figures in recent tennis history.
While Murray was sharing the court with the Academy’s young players, Rafa Nadal and Richard Gasquet practiced on one of the complex’s indoor courts, continuing their preparation for Saturday’s event.

The Rafa Nadal Academy Slam will reunite some of the leading figures of an unforgettable tennis generation on the court. Murray, retired from the professional circuit since 2024, will compete again in a very special format as captain of Team Murray, which will include Dominic Thiem, Fabio Fognini, and Marat Safin. Facing them will be Team Rafa, led by Rafa Nadal and featuring Carlos Moyà, David Ferrer, and Richard Gasquet.
This Saturday, ten years after the opening of the Rafa Nadal Academy, Manacor will once again become a meeting point for some of the great figures who have shaped recent tennis history to celebrate a decade of sport, training, and values.
