FAQ

Can we visit your facilities?

Yes. Please visit our web www.rnsportscentre.com where you will find full details of our facilities here at the Rafa Nadal Sports Centre. Some areas can be accessed by the general public such as the museum, Sport Café, shop, etc but the Academy building housing the American International School of Mallorca and the players’ residence can only be accessed by authorised personnel. If you would like a tour of our facilities you can book this by emailing box.office@rafanadalacademy.com (Museum) or call (+34) 971171683

What level are the players?

We have players of varying levels and expect all players to already be training between 4-6 hours per week. The coaches assess the level of all the players at the start of the program and place them in the training groups for the week according to level and age. The coaches also decide the color ball best suited to player’s requirements. The coaches appreciate that the players may be tired from travelling and can change the group a player is in during his/her stay if they consider it necessary. The coaches always have the final decision

My child is not ranked

Not all players that come to our Annual, Weekly & Summer Camp programs are ranked. For some, tennis is their chosen sport to keep fit and active and to be able to apply the values learned through sport throughout their lives and chosen career. Not all our players want to be professional tennis players. The coaches expect the players to already be training between 4-6 hours per day. What counts most is a good attitude, a willingness to learn and to improve and a passion for tennis.

Wich is the main language?

The main language in Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar is tennis and a love of sport.

Annual program: An English language assessment forms part of the admissions procedure for this program.

Summer Camp and Weekly programs: We have players from all over the world attending and so the common language on court is English. Many of our staff can speak several languages

Can I stay with my child at the Academy?

Parents can stay at the Rafa Nadal Sports Centre on-site. Young players can stay with their parents however we do encourage them to stay in the Players’ Residence in order to gain full advantage of all aspects of the program. It helps build companionship, respect for self and others, independence, self-discipline, etc. The players’ residence (the academy) is a 24hr supervised building with monitors that stay on-site overnight. This building is accessed by authorised personnel only. For the shorter programs (Summer Camp and Weekly) the young players stay in a modern, well equipped bedroom, sharing with up to 3 other players. The rooms have their own bathroom and air-conditioning/heating.
