The Rafa Nadal Academy has recently hosted a clay-court training block for Iga Świątek, one of the leading figures on the international circuit and a six-time Grand Slam champion.

The former world No. 1 has chosen the Academy’s facilities in Mallorca to prepare for one of the most demanding stretches of the season, while also beginning a new professional chapter alongside Spanish coach Francis Roig, who spent 17 years as part of Rafa Nadal’s team.

During her stay, Świątek had the opportunity to share training sessions with Rafa Nadal himself, who welcomed her via social media: “Welcome back to the Rafa Nadal Academy, enjoy your time here. We hope you feel at home.”

Speaking to Eurosport, the Polish player highlighted the value of the experience: “It was a privilege to have Rafa on court. It was a very inspiring moment and it will allow us to continue developing the work with Francis in this new stage.”

Świątek’s connection with the Academy is longstanding. She has previously trained in Manacor and was also the godmother of the 2023 graduating class of the Rafa Nadal School. “Congratulations on your graduation; I know you have worked hard, enjoy it a lot. Thank you for inviting me to such a beautiful ceremony and academy,” she told the students at the time.

Following this training period at the Rafa Nadal Academy, the Polish No. 1 will head into the clay swing aiming to maintain her high competitive level in key tournaments such as Roland Garros, where she has already claimed four titles.
