Norway’s Casper Ruud claimed the Nordic Open title in Stockholm after defeating France’s Ugo Humbert 6-2, 6-3 in the final. The Rafa Nadal Academy player, who reached a career-high world No. 2 and faced Rafa Nadal in the 2022 Roland Garros final, thus secured his second title of the season, following his triumph earlier this year at the Mutua Madrid Open.

Accompanied by Pedro Clar, coach at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, Ruud delivered a flawless performance, winning 36 of 39 points on serve and not facing a single break, despite Humbert having six break-point opportunities. In just 68 minutes, the Norwegian overpowered the Frenchman to lift the 14th trophy of his career.
The world No. 11 couldn’t hide his joy after winning a tournament that has seen true legends of the sport on its honours list. “I’m very happy to win here in Stockholm. It’s a childhood dream come true, since it’s close to Norway and because many great legends have played here in the past — Federer, Nadal, Borg, McEnroe… It’s an honour to win the title at this event,” said Ruud.
This victory in Stockholm also makes Ruud the player with the most indoor wins (11) so far in 2025, keeping alive his hopes of qualifying for the ATP Finals. He currently sits 11th in the Race, 745 points behind Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti, who holds the eighth and final qualifying spot for the Turin tournament, where Ruud was a finalist last year.
