Wong, Ivanov and Munar shine in Davis Cup qualifiers with their respective countries

Coleman Wong, Ivan Ivanov and Jaume Munar, the three players of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, have tasted victory in the Davis Cup playoffs that took place last weekend.

Coleman Wong led Hong Kong into the World Group I Play-offs with his victories against Uzbekistan. The Academy player, who had already made history at the last US Open by claiming his first two wins in the main draw, played a part in all three of his country’s victories.

In the World Group I, Ivan Ivanov’s Bulgaria, the newly crowned US Open Junior champion, defeated Finland 3-2. The 16-year-old player lost a double 6-2 to Emil Ruusuvuori.

Finally, Jaume Munar participated in Spain’s comeback against Denmark. The team captained by David Ferrer was down 0-2 after the first day and ended up qualifying for the quarterfinals in Bologna by winning 3-2. The Rafa Nadal Academy player scored one of the points for the Spanish team by winning the doubles match alongside Pedro Martinez.
