Former world No. 1 and global padel icon Carolina Navarro attended the final event of the Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour by The Adecco Group. “I’ve been lucky to be accompanying one of the teams. I’m really having a great time. I’m not under any pressure or tension, and there’s a great atmosphere. Great people from all over Spain have come, and it’s really well-organized, with all the matches very evenly matched,” commented the former world No. 1 for nine seasons.

The Malaga player also wanted to emphasize the importance of the atmosphere generated off the courts: “We also had the tardeo yesterday and we were dancing and having a great time. It’s truly an experience and a luxury to be here at the Rafa Nadal Academy facilities. It’s incredible because there’s an incredible sporting atmosphere. There’s a mix of camaraderie with a lot of people from all over the world that we’re meeting, and there’s no shortage of fun, so the combination is perfect.”
Carolina, who has been a three-time world champion in pairs and four times in national teams, emphasized the importance of these types of team formats: “Team padel creates an environment where you play different matches, there’s a great atmosphere, and you meet a lot of people. The truth is, it’s becoming quite popular at the professional level now, and it’s a great idea because I think people like to see the whole experience of changing pairings, different matchups, etc. At the amateur level, it’s something that hasn’t been seen much, and I think, having seen this format, I think it’s a great idea. I hope this circuit continues to grow because it truly creates an incredible atmosphere.” The Rafa Nadal Padel Tour by The Adecco Group is one of the candidates to win the award for best amateur circuit of the year at the “World Padel Awards,” organized annually by Pádel Spain.
